Facebook bought ''WhatsApp'' for 16 billion dollars.



 On Wednesday, Facebook announced the purchase of the instant messaging application ''WhatsApp'' for 16 billion dollars, the largest acquisition in the history of the world's largest social network, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary .

Of this total, $ 4 billion will be paid in cash and the remaining 12 billion in Facebook shares. The group also plans to pay $ 3 billion in shares to the founders and employees of ''WhatsApp'' over a period of four years after the closure of the operation.

" WhatsApp has built a mobile messaging service in real time which has a leadership position and growing very fast," Facebook also emphasizes in its statement. The group notes that the service has more than 450 million monthly users , 70% active daily, and more than a million people open an account every day.
